One of the teachers said, “Kids are why I get up every morning.” Teachers said that their greatest reward was to see a child who has been struggling with a concept then suddenly get it.

The educators expressed their frustration with having to teach to the test with the “No Child Left Behind” (NCLB) program. They felt that NCLB penalizes not only the students but also teachers and schools. They would prefer local teacher generated testing.
