Lake Elsinore's U.S. Youth Volleyball League Opens Registration

While league play doesn't begin until September, an official with the USYVL says the organization begins registration three months out.

The United States Youth Volleyball League for Lake Elsinore has officially opened its registration for the upcoming fall season.   

While league play doesn’t begin until September, an official with the USYVL says the organization begins registration three months out.

“We have open registration -- no previous experience required; just have to be boys and girls ages 7-15 as of November 1, 2011,” said Veronica Sanchez, USYVL spokeswoman.

The eight-week fall program, which begins Sept. 14 and ends Nov. 5, is designed to teach the fundamentals of volleyball, such as serving, passing, setting and spiking. 

The Lake Elsinore league meets at Canyon Lake Middle School, Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10-11 a.m.

The Lake Elsinore league currently has about 50 kids in its spring program, which finishes June 11, Sanchez said.

Registration for the fall season can be done online at www.USYVL.org, or registration forms can be requested by calling the USYVL National Office at 1-888-988-7985.
