Storm Baseball At Home Against Quakes Through Monday

Enjoy beautiful weather and baseball at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore this weekend.

Coming off a road series win against Lancaster, the Lake Elsinore Storm returned to The Diamond Friday night as they begin a four game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, losing 14-12.

Dodgers pitcher Zack Grienke made his first rehab start for the Quakes since breaking his collarbone during an on-field brawl with San Diego Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin on April 11. Grienke pitched 4.1 innings giving up eight runs (three earned) and allowed six hits while striking out four.

RHP John Hussey made his Storm debut pitching four innings while surrendering seven earned runs on seven hits.

Storm catcher Robert Kral enjoyed a phenomenal night, going 3-for-3 against Grienke, and 4-for-4 overall with two home runs, two doubles and five RBIs. Second baseman Cory Spangenberg continued his hit streak, which now sits at 9 games, going 1-for-5.

The Storm have now lost four straight home games and four in a row to Rancho. The Quakes now lead the season series 8-3.

Lake Elsinore will continue their homestand with the Quakes through Monday. Saturday night they will have RHP Matt Jackson on the mound, facing off against Rancho RHP Lindsey Caughel. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
