Tim ‘Tebowing’ Record Set In Lake Elsinore

The July 13 event at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore goes to show that minor league baseball has more humor than the National Football League.

It’s unknown whether star quarterback Tim Tebow caught it, but on Friday the Single-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres -- the Lake Elsinore Storm -- set a record by amassing the greatest number of people “Tebowing” during a postgame testimonial at The Diamond Stadium.

On July 13, the Storm had over 500 fans along the outfield grass “Tebowing” in prayer just as Tim himself has done after Broncos’ team victories. According to Lake Elsinore Storm officials, the turnout was a record.

The ode to Tebow came after the Storm scored three runs in the eighth in a comeback 4-1 victory over the High Desert Mavericks.

The record-breaking blessed event was an undertaking. :  “The would like to be the first team to officially offer the Denver Broncos a trade for Tim Tebow.”

"We're not sure about Tim's baseball past," said Storm Vice President/General Manager Chris Jones, "but we are sure he could bring some of that Tebow magic to Lake Elsinore and would be a great addition to our ballclub."

The Storm’s holy-cow offer came with crazy minor league baseball sweeteners.

“We would like to offer the Broncos the Rally Cop as well as the Grounds Crew Gorilla, in exchange for Tebow," said Storm management.

The Storm was also willing to rename its hometown venue “Elway Stadium” if Tebow signed.

Of course the star quarterback didn’t take the offer and instead was traded to the New York Jets, one of the least Evangelical-friendly markets in the United States, according to columnist Jacques Berlinerblau.

But the July 13 event at The Diamond in Lake Elsinore goes to show that minor league baseball has more humor than the National Football League. Friday’s publicity stunt was part of the 8th annual Night of Fellowship, which treated fans to a night of baseball, faith and fireworks.

The atheists and fools in the world blind and foolish will celebrate, guys who rape girls, kill dogs, or bite off someones ear. This is a guy that builds a hospital for orphans, he is a shining light in the world, and a true role model for young men women, and adults.

Looks to me like Tebow is on the exact path he is meant to be on , which dosen't suprise me, because the New York Jets need a guy like Tebow around!

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward." Tebow may be a fine young man. He seems so to me. It is what's in a person's heart that counts. So, he may be just fine. But the Bible's prohibition against praying in public is for a reason.

Who's angry Cat? Just contributing my point of view...which by the way a whole lot of other people agree with! Using false religous activities for self-promotion may be good for public relations, but I expect it isn't very pleasing to god.
Cat July 18, 2012 at 03:21 AM
If it didn't bother you, then why did you have my question pulled? Quite telling. It's ok to speak for yourself just like its ok for people to think that sometimes you come off as being a little angry. I must admit that I don't know what "pure self-promation" is, nor "religous'. This might lead people to think you are not very familiar with these terms if you don't know how to spell them. It also makes me laugh when you imply that you "expect" to know what God is thinking. Do you know how that sounds? By the way, God is always spelled with a capital G. It's a sign of Respect .
Cat July 18, 2012 at 03:44 AM
Sorry Martha, but I just don't waste my time "barking up trees" , twisting others comments or standing on soap boxes. I'm just into telling it like it is. Maybe you could give that a try too? :~)

Just what god are you referring to Cat? What name do you call your god by? And, what does all that have to do with the Made in China uniforms? There are so many gods to choose from these days, and as for all the nonsense you are putting out about respect, why should I have to worry about that? Your god may demand it of you, but that doesn't mean I have to adhere to your rules. If there is a god, then he/she or the trinity knows whats in people's hearts and minds without all this artificial talk about demonstrating respect or getting wrapped up in some religion's dogma. Amen

Hey, Cat, you are barking up the wrong tree here. I didn't have anything to do with whatever question you had 'pulled'. If you want confirmation of that, just ask your dear friend Toni or the editiorial staff - cause it wasn't me. I understand they are deleting lots of comments they deem as inappropriate all on their own. Sorry about the typos, I must have been in too much of a hurry. As for god, I spell it the way I think about it, but its OK if you buy into the necessity of spelling it differently. Thankfully, it's a free country where everyone is free to follow their own religion (see, I do know how to spell it) or no religion at all. Blessings.

Cat July 18, 2012 at 05:51 PM
Thanks Dog, ...explains alot.....:~\
Cat July 18, 2012 at 06:02 PM
@ Martha, "And what does that have to do with made in China uniforms?" HUH??This is the 'Teebowing' forum, not the other discussion. Guess you might be a little bit confused writing your comments at 3 AM ? By the way, that's in the wee hours of the morning......... I won't be discussing any kind of religion with you either. I don't waste my time with angry arguementative people. Lastly, yes you may ask Toni to pull this one too. Have a better day! :~)
