Wildomar Suffers Another Key Loss

...as Planning Commissioner Robert Devine Resigns!

Bob Devine, the longest serving and by far the most capable, well-informed of Wildomar’s planning commissioners has tendered his resignation.  With this decision Wildomar has lost their strongest voice for sound planning practices and adherence to the laws governing development.

No doubt Bob, a consummate professional and longtime supporter of our community, will put a good face on his decision by saying increased demands from his personal business were the basis for his leaving.

However, the WildomarWatcher can’t help but wonder if Mr. Devine’s action has been precipitated by ever increasing concerns over recent city planning decisions and the pressure to deliver approvals for questionably legal projects.  Being a good, effective planning commissioner is hard, time-consuming work at best.  But when coupled with politically based pressures, the job can be a nightmare.

It is indeed a sad day for Wildomar when someone like Mr. Devine decides to withdraw.  I doubt the city will find anyone of similar talent and quality to fills his shoes.
