The Week Ahead In Lake Elsinore, Wildomar: Kids Back In School, Blood Drive, 60th Anniversary Luncheon

A look at the highlights of the week ahead, Jan. 13-18, 2014, in Lake Elsinore and Wildomar.

Lake Elsinore Unified School District kids, grades K-8, returned to class from their winter break on Jan. 13. Middle school and high school students return Jan. 14. Please drive carefully and watch for kids!

The Lake Elsinore City Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. The meeting, which marks the first one of the new year, will be held at the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District boardroom located at 31315 Chaney Street. A blood drive is scheduled Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Elk's Lodge located at 33700 Mission Trail in Wildomar. Click here for more information.

The Wildomar Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 15. The meeting is the first one of the year for the commission. It will be held at City Hall located at 23873 Clinton Keith Road, Suite #111. Click here for the full meeting agenda.

If you are a writer, screenwriter, poet -- or have aspirations of being published -- come join the local writer's group Jan. 16 at La Rebelde Winery in Lake Elsinore. The group will meet at 5 p.m. The winery is located at 530 Crane St., Unit G. Teens are welcome; there will be non-alcoholic beverages available. Click here for more information.

The Rotary Club of Lake Elsinore's 60th Anniversary Luncheon takes place Jan. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Diamond Club located at 500 Diamond Drive in Lake Elsinore. Admission is $30 per person/$300 for a table of six. Reservations are required. For more information, call (951) 226-5127.
